Labour AI is a spin-out of Labour Digital, and aims to revolutionise how the Labour movement thinks about Artificial Intelligence to enhance the strategy, policy, and delivery of a prospective Labour Government.
We're here to unlock artificial intelligence's transformative potential and ensure that Labour policymakers understand the risks and opportunities and the role artificial intelligence can play in a mission-driven government. We need a decade of national renewal, and artificial intelligence can be a positive force for this chance.

Meet the advisory board

Chris Worsey
Chris Worsey is an accomplished entrepreneur, pioneering the application of AI in education and sports. He founded Coursematch which used AI to help students find their perfect educational opportunity and currently leads SportsIcon a venture studio that has built an AI powered sports coach. Chris has raised over £7 million from a variety of high profile investors, including Youtube founder Chad Hurley, ex-Disney CEO Jeffrey Katzenburg, rapper-turned-investor Nas, Shazam founder Dhiraj Mukerjee, and NBA Star Andrew Bogut.
Chris is an OnDeck fellow, Start Up Leadership fellow and Techstars Alumni. He founded and chaired the Black Country Youth Unemploment Commision and sits on the Business Advisory Board for West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker.

Casey Calista
Casey is a public affairs consultant with expertise in the tech sector. She currently leads public affairs for UK scale-up Vorboss, an infrastructure operator providing future-facing connectivity. In her career focused on tech policy, she's worked for some of the largest tech companies in the UK and globally. Casey also ran grew PICTFOR, the APPG on tech, and managed a digital start-up.
She has run successful campaigns in the UK, US and Cameroon including a role supporting the 2012 Obama re-election campaign. She is the co-Founder of the Women's Tech Policy Network and an advisor to digital citizenship charity Glitch and OpenUK.

Adam Leon Smith
Adam Leon Smith is an independent expert in AI standardisation - a member of the UK's national AI standards committee managed by BSI, part of the leadership team of ISO/IEC's AI committee and an officer in the CEN/CENELEC's AI committee working to support the implementation of the EU's AI Act. He also works in non-profit organisations as an elected Director of ForHumanity, a grass-roots organisation working on issues related to autonomous systems, and Chair of the British Computer Society's Fellows Technical Advisory Group.
He has performed extensive research on AI regulation, particularly how to ensure that regulation does not stifle innovation.

Mary Towers
Mary Towers is an employment rights policy officer in the Rights, International, Social and Economic department at the TUC.
Mary is leading a TUC project looking at the use of artificial intelligence in the employment relationship.
Before joining the TUC, she worked as an employment lawyer and writer, with particular experience of working for trade unions.

Charlie Mercer
Charlie is Deputy Policy Director at Startup Coalition. Startup Coalition has been the policy voice for startups in the UK since 2010 and was central to key sector interventions like the Future Fund, the expansion of investment incentives, and the bail out of Silicon Valley Bank UK. Startup Coalition has over 3,500 startups in its ecosystem. In his role, Charlie owns investment, Fintech, and ClimateTech policy, and leads on engagement with the Labour Party.
He is also Treasurer of Labour Digital and active in Bristol South CLP.
